Cake Pans in Iowa Public Libraries  2005-06

Survey Results

Central Iowa Library Service Area

The Central Iowa Library Service Area posted a web survey to gather information about Iowa Public Library cake pan collections in the fall of 2006. Forty-three libraries responded to the survey. There are probably at least ten to fifteen more libraries that offer cake pans, and I would eventually like to include data from those libraries. I will update the information when I've gathered as much as I can find.

One of the respondents had data for 2005-06 but withdrew their collection in the fall (Stratford). I have included their data because they do represent the holdings for the sample fiscal year. Another respondent (Polk City) just started their collection, so they had no holdings or circulation data for FY2005-06. I've included their answers to the qualitative questions about practices regarding cake pans.

Here are some of the highlights of the survey. Keep in mind that these data represent only responding libraries--there are probably ten or more libraries with cake pans that aren't represented.

Here are links to detailed reports from the survey. I have also included a page with responses to an August 18, 2006 IOWALIB question about cake pans from Pam Witt of the Polk City Community Library.

My thanks to everyone who participated in the survey. I hope you find it useful!
